The Brad Kaminsky Foundation "Heroes of Hope" Golf Tournament,
Held: Saturday, April 12th, 2003
Tournament Results And Pictures

On Saturday April, 12, 2003 The Brad Kaminsky Foundation for Brain Tumor Research hosted the Second Annual Heroes of Hope Golf Tournament at The Lansdowne Golf Resort, Leesburg, VA in memory of Brad Kaminsky , Lisa Lewis Gibson, Bob Carter Jr., and Tony Leonard.

Proceeds of the tournament were used to fund a cure for brain tumors, a deadly disease, now the number one cancer killer of children and the number two cancer killer of young adults. Brad, Lisa, Bob and Tony were all very young parents. All in their late 20's, early 30's with small children. All monies raised at this golf tournament was donated to the Brain Tumor Center at Duke and will be used strictly for research to find a cure. Last year we raised $10,000.

A dinner was attended by non players as well as players after the golf tournament was concluded. From 3-6pm while the tournament was in play, the golf pavilion housed "Shopping for a Cure" where local independent business women showcased and sold their products and donated a portion back to brain tumor research. Vendors participating were Pampered Chef, Fashion Purses, Discovery Toys, Usborne Books, Creative Memories, Longaberger Baskets, Tastefully Simple, and Premiere Jewelry.

This years tournament brought in $26,000. We donated over $55,000 to brain tumor research over the past year and we hope to double this amount for next year. The majority of the money has gone directly to Duke University's Brain Tumor Center to be used strictly for research. The remaing monies went to University of Pennsylvania Hospital strictly for brain tumor research, and to The Brain Tumor Society to be used strictly for Research.

Many wonderful raffle prizes were awarded and a good time was had by all.

Thank you to all who supported this event....and of course to our Angels! We will find the Cure and end this disease!!

We wish to thank all those who donated their time, products, services and money to make the event a HUGE success! We hope you will participate again next year.

We are hoping to have the Third Annual Heroes of Hope Golf Tournament on Sat, April 17th, 2004 at the beautiful Lansdowne Resort.
